A medical school built for hands-on learning and health
In Heritage Hall, the new Athens home for Ohio University’s Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (HCOM), active
learning is key. Students will gain hands-on medical education in
spaces ranging from simulation labs to an anatomy lab to A/V-forward classrooms. There is space for group learning or independent study in breakout rooms, collaborative classrooms, and the spacious 3-story atrium.
In harmony with HCOM’s healing mission, Heritage Hall’s design embraces health and wellness concepts, from abundant natural light to water filtration to a fitness room. It was designed to achieve WELL Building Certification.
