Karpinski Engineering Announces Leadership Transition

Dec 02, 2024

Karpinski Engineering is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeremy Bowers, PE as the new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2025. With over 24 years of dedicated service to the firm, Jeremy’s leadership is expected to bring innovative ideas and renewed energy as Karpinski Engineering embarks on a new chapter of growth.

Bowers, who joined the firm in June 2000, has always exemplified Karpinski’s core values and vision. Under his leadership, he established the firm’s Akron-Canton Office, which has experienced significant growth since its founding in 2006, forming a robust client base and revenue stream.

“Engineering is not just about technical solutions; it’s fundamentally about people,” said Bowers. “I am truly honored to lead Karpinski Engineering and to continue the legacy created by Jim Karpinski and Jim Cicero. I intend to focus on empowering our teams, enhancing client service, and encouraging innovation as we adapt to the evolving demands of our industry.”

Jim Cicero will remain actively involved as a Principal and Chairman of the Board of Directors, providing valuable guidance and support during this transitional period. “Having Jeremy at the helm is a natural progression for our firm,” said Cicero. “His deep understanding of our culture and his commitment to our core values ensure a seamless transition. I have full confidence that he will uphold the spirit of passion, integrity, service, and excellence that defines Karpinski Engineering.”

The firm has been proactively preparing for this transition, cultivating a leadership culture throughout its ranks. Karpinski’s formal leadership training program has empowered more than 50 staff members over the past decade, fostering a collaborative environment where every employee is encouraged to take on leadership responsibilities. In the last five years, Karpinski Engineering has added eight new principals to its leadership team, each with specific responsibilities across various departments and aspects of the business. This enhancement has strengthened the firm’s expertise and operational efficiency.

“This transition has been strategically planned over the last several years,” emphasized Bowers. “With a solid foundation built on shared values and mutual respect, along with the diverse expertise of our new principals, we are well-equipped to navigate this change smoothly.”

In his new role, Jeremy will prioritize customer service, continue staff training initiatives, and leverage emerging technologies to enhance project delivery. He is committed to focusing on future trends, including AI and BIM, allowing the team to focus on critical tasks and elevate client satisfaction.

“Our core values are the foundation of Karpinski Engineering,” Bowers remarked. “As we embrace new challenges and opportunities, these principles will guide us in maintaining our commitment to excellence.”
