A destination facility advancing neurological care, research, and innovation.

The Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute is a one million square foot facility designed to bring inpatient and outpatient care, research, and advanced treatment together under one roof. The building will include 218 inpatient rooms, 120 exam rooms, 36 ICU beds, and 12 operating rooms, along with infusion services and innovation labs. Every space supports the digitization of care, distance health, and the next generation of medical discovery.

Serving as Engineer of Record, Karpinski Engineering is partnering with Stantec to deliver highly coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology systems tailored to this complex healthcare environment. Infrastructure is designed to support clinical flexibility, advanced imaging and surgical platforms, and the evolving needs of both patients and caregivers.

The project team is operating under an Integrated Project Delivery contract with an ambitious target of six years and under $1 billion. Pull planning, early design packages, and phased equipment releases have helped maintain schedule certainty. Shared Revit models, pre-deck coordination, and permit submissions using shop drawings reduced months from the timeline. The result is a high-performing facility shaped by lean principles, real-time collaboration, and a fully aligned team.
