Hotel transformation gives new life to a landmark building
An adaptive-reuse project has transformed the historic Cleveland Board of Education building into downtown hotel. The 1930s building is one in a group of downtown Cleveland buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Today, the hotel provides 189 rooms, along with meeting rooms, a banquet room, and a basement-level fitness center and swimming pool. Its design accommodates building’s historic elements, including marble walls, wall paintings, and decorative historic ceilings.
