The Cleveland Restoration Society gave the Drury Plaza Hotel Cleveland Downtown with a Distinguished Achievement in Preservation Award. The hotel is an adaptive-reuse project transforming the former Cleveland Board of Education building into a downtown hotel. The 1930s building is one in a group of downtown Cleveland buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Karpinski Engineering provided electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and civil engineering services, as well as lighting design.
