Multispecialty care and outpatient endoscopy in a single location
Allegheny Health Network’s (AHN) new outpatient center combines multispecialty care with an outpatient endoscopy center. The multispecialty care center provides spaces for neurosurgery, orthopedics, cardiology, esophageal and lung disease, physical medicine, and other specialized care. It includes 16 exam rooms, a physical therapy/occupational therapy gym, a lab for blood draws, and a radiology room for X-rays.
The endoscopy center offers both diagnostic and therapeutic care. It includes two procedure rooms, supported by prep and recovery spaces. A third procedure room can be added in the future as the region’s needs progress.
The center, which had formerly been retail space, needed new MEPT systems to support its medical and surgical functions. It has new dedicated utilities, including fire, domestic water, natural gas, fiber optic, and electrical services. The team also designed completely new infrastructure for the facility.
One of AHN’s priorities was speed to market, and the design team worked together to quickly develop construction documents over four weeks.
