University of Akron | Center for Multifunctional Polymer Nanomaterials & Devices
The University of Akron recently constructed a new $11 million, 42,750 SF facility for the Center for Multifunctional Polymer Nanomaterials and Devices (CMPND). The polymer lab houses 10 special environmentally controlled laboratories which are shared by academics and industry partners. Our team of engineers was responsible for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology (MEPT) for the University of Akron.
The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art research instruments and a large high bay area designed for installation of prototype manufacturing apparatus for innovation in fabrication of materials and devices. These include optical films, nano composites and nano fiber wound healing dressings. The research and commercialization partnership in polymer nanotechnology includes three prominent Ohio universities and more than 50 large and small companies in Ohio.
