Aug 29, 2019

Karpinski Engineering has promoted three staff members to Associate: Matt Nutter, PE, Matt Priebe, and Jeremy Woodward.

At Karpinski Engineering, Associates work closely with the firm’s principals. They help implement the firm’s strategic vision and are leaders in client service.

“Associates promote the firm’s values, goals, and culture,” said Principal Brian David, PE, LEED AP. “We rely on them to maintain the technical integrity of the firm’s projects and services. They help make the company, their colleagues, and the principals better.”

Matt Nutter, PE

Matt Nutter, PE, excels at technically challenging projects. As an electrical engineer, Nutter has deep experience in large-scale power distribution and emergency power systems. His work ranges from high-profile public projects to corporate headquarters to higher education facilities.

David described Nutter as an engineer who can take on any type of project and find the right solutions.

“More than anything, Matt’s technical competence has earned the respect of his peers and our clients,” said David.

David also highlighted Nutter’s strength as a mentor.

“Matt knows what to teach people and how to get them ready to take on their own projects,” he said.

Nutter joined Karpinski Engineering in 2007 and is based in the firm’s Cleveland office. He earned his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University and is a registered Professional Engineer.

Matt Priebe

Matt Priebe was recently named Director of the Electrical Department and is one of the firm’s experts in K-12 schools. He has devoted thousands of hours to educational spaces, including more than 20 ground-up schools throughout Ohio.

David praised Priebe’s consistent growth during his years at KE. He pointed to Priebe’s leadership of education sector projects, his engineering capabilities, and his willingness to teach and mentor “anyone who needs it.”

“I’ve reviewed Matt every step of the way since he started at Karpinski. I’ve seen his whole progression. Matt has continually improved and grown, taking on more responsibilities across the board,” David said.

Priebe joined Karpinski Engineering in 2006 and is based in the firm’s Cleveland office. He earned his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University.

Jeremy Woodward

As a leader in KE’s Akron-Canton office, electrical engineer Jeremy Woodward embodies versatility. He’s involved with project management, client relations, business development, and office operations. He works on projects across the firm’s major markets: healthcare, higher education, K-12 education, and corporate.

Principal Jeremy Bowers, PE, Director of Akron-Canton Operations, described Woodward as someone who is always willing to take on new responsibilities.

“Jeremy doesn’t shy away from new challenges. He’s always asking what else he can do to support Karpinski Engineering and our clients,” said Bowers.

Bowers also praised Woodward’s sense of curiosity.

“[KE founder] Jim Karpinski said that what separates good engineers from great engineers is curiosity about how a building’s equipment and systems all function and work together,” said Bowers. “Jeremy has that curiosity.”

Woodward joined Karpinski Engineering in 2009. He earned his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from The University of Akron.
