Excellence Award for Seton Hill University’s Dance & Visual Arts Center
Aug 09, 2016
Seton Hill University’s Arts Center has won a Merit Award for Excellence in Architecture for a New Building.
The award is part of the Society of College and University Planning’s (SCUP) Excellence Awards program.
The design team included designLAB architects, BSHM Architects, Karpinski Engineering, Gateway Engineers, and Peller & Associates.
Located in downtown Greensburg, Pennsylvania, the Arts Center houses dance studios, art galleries, workshops, and classrooms. It also features an outdoor Art Yard.
“The building’s design emphasizes open space,” said lead mechanical engineer James Dudt, PE, LEED AP BD+C. “Students can see what their peers are working on. They can also see how the building is put together, because we designed ductwork, piping, and other components to remain visible.”
