Engineering Internships and Co-Ops

As an engineering intern or co-op student, you’ll get an up-close look at what consulting engineering is all about. You’ll start learning the fundamentals of building design as you work on real projects and learn the tools of the trade (such as Revit, the software design program we use daily). You’ll work with experienced team members who can answer your questions and show you the ropes.

Internships are typically part-time during the academic year and full-time during the summer. Co-ops can be full-time during the academic year or the summer. The number of interns and co-op students we bring on board depends on the firm’s workload and the team’s availability to mentor students.

Early-Career Engineers

As an early-career engineer, you’ll work on real projects from the get-go. You’ll be matched with a mentor, who serves as your go-to guru during the first years of your career. You’ll participate in Karpinski’s engineering boot camp and begin mastering the fundamentals of building engineering. As you learn, you’ll take on bigger design challenges and greater project responsibilities.

“The instant you walk in this door you’re a part of KE. You will be challenged right away, and that’s what you want when it’s your career.”
-Katie Lee, PE, Mechanical Associate
