Main-Campus Upgrades at Nationwide Children's Hospital

Karpinski Engineering and Trinity Health Group recently began design work for major renovations in Buildings A and T on Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s main campus in Columbus. The $12-million project – $6 million of which is MEP infrastructure – includes renovation of about 90,000 SF. Design began in February and is scheduled for completion in August. Construction is planned for September of 2013 through September of 2014, and complex phasing plans are being developed to keep active areas of the building operational throughout construction.

Proposed infrastructure upgrades include replacing selected air handlers, revising ductwork distribution, replacing the heating system, revising medical gas systems, reworking plumbing risers and electrical distribution, constructing stacked electric and telecommunication rooms, and replacing electric main switchgear and two elevators.
